Synopsis

Southern Rhodesia, 1959. The dramas of living in this volatile state are brought to life by three families - the Bryants, the Ngwenyas and the Quilter-Phillipses. The Bryant family are vital to the survival of the black rhino. But with the damning of the Zambezi, they've got their work cut out. They spotted a young calf, named Makuti, which enforces their determination to protect the black rhino. The tensions between races and political factions steadily increase.
