Next, each unit contains a Writing Skills chapter with easy-to-follow instructions that gradually introduce new concepts to facilitate the growth and maturation of writing skills. These lessons begin with writing manageable paragraphs, then gradually build to a multi-page story. As your student learns more, more writing is required. Beginning lessons focus on describing words (adjectives): how to use them and where to find them. Middle lessons teach about conversation in a story: how to write and punctuate. Final lessons teach about purpose and plot as well as how to combine everything that is learned into a story. The third chapter in each unit is full of Grammar Skills and PRACTICE exercises.
