Synopsis

Professional ethics creates an imperative for student services practitioners to consider their work in the light of its potential consequences for themselves, their institutions, their students, and their colleagues. All professions are characterized by their willingness to establish codes of ethics and to educate and oversee practitioner compliance. On today's multicultural campuses, many ethical systems are in contact and in conflict on both personal and professional levels. This volume examines some of the emerging ethical systems that challenge or complement the system used in student affairs over the past several decades.
