The Red-Winged Blackbird

Synopsis

In this work, the author draws on 20 years experience of redwings to provide a summary of the work done with these birds. It covers breeding system, territoriality, vocal communications, mating systems, and broad distribution. It also considers redwings as pests, in relation to crops. The text is written in an easy style, and is intended as an introduction, for both students and layperson, to redwings and what they can teach us about behavioural ecology.
