Synopsis

Reissue of a novel about a contemporary marriage first published in 1994 and shortlisted for the 1995 Booker Prize. Set in rural Ireland and across Europe, it is the story of Fred Scully and his 7-year-old daughter Billie, and the search for his wife who mysteriously vanishes from his life. Author has written for adults and children. He has won the Miles Franklin Award three times, for 'Shallows', 'Cloudstreet' and 'Dirt Music'.
