Synopsis

After releasing three albums in five years, the Strokes spent the second half of the aughts in hibernation. Frontman Julian Casablancas and guitarist Albert Hammond, Jr. launched solo careers in the interim, eventually returning to the fold in 2009 to begin work on the Strokes' self-produced fourth album. Released two years later, Angles features a back-to-basics sound reminiscent of the band's 2001 debut.
