The new inclusive mood governing contemporary thought on the arrangement of our social institutions has created a growing demand among schools to find effective ways of integrating the classroom across differences in "ability" that previously would have divided it. "The Inclusive School" combines a theoretical examination of inclusion and its rationale with the story of a group of schools in which teachers, assistants and children have strived to make inclusion happen.
