    Sony Ereader Pocket Edition

    20/12/2010

Having owned both the Kobo and the Pocket, the first thing that comes to mind is you get what you pay for.

Despite the higher price tag, I would strongly recommend the Pocket. It's bookmarking and note taking abilities make it great for students. It's memo writing ability is great for both the forgetful and the writerly inclined among us. And the responsive, easy to use touch screen is far kinder to patience and fingers then the overly stiff and not particularly responsive button on the kobo.

So if you really want to save a little money, have strong fingers and the patience of a saint with which to wait on slow page turns, buy the kobo. But if you just want to read a book, the Pocket is far and away the better choice.

    LOVE IT!

    25/01/2011

I got this reader last November and am loving it. Able to download PDFs from uni, can use the dictionary option, highlighting and underlining. Took it travelling for a month to Laos. While it did not live up to the 2 week life estimate, it lasted long over a week and was easy to charge in my quick visit to the internet cafe (even a hotel offered to plug it in). It is a neat size, the cover with light is brilliant, and I read 5 books in my 4 weeks away without the weight in my pack.

    THUMBS UP!
