Like any electronic device the Kobo eReader can occasionally fall over and require some assistance. Let's see if we can resolve it.

You may be more comfortable with PDF files however ePub allows more flexibility on a greater number of eReading devices.

The urllink.acsm file is a token that is used to trigger the ePub or PDF download through Adobe Digital Editions or the Sony software, Reader.

If you are using the Angus & Robertson app and cannot downlaod your eBooks when you click upon the 'UPDATE LIBRARY', then you may need to explore the settings to allow the app to connect to the online database where the eBooks are stored.

ePub formatted eBooks from Angus & Robertson will work with Adobe-DRM supported eReading devices.

It may look confusing, but it's really quite simple and you can cccess your eBooks from multiple devices.
This error can occur with the latest version of our free PC and Mac desktop apps in networked computer environments.
The first step is to enable proxy mode by pressing the following keys together: 'CTRL+SHIFT+P' (on a PC) and COMMAND+SHIFT+P' (on an Apple Mac). Pressing this key combination for a second time will turn proxy mode off.
If you are using the app for the first time and if proxy mode does not work, then you may need to ask your IT technician to change the settings on your firewall and/ or security software to allow the app to download your eBooks. Please check your security settings to allow the Angus & Robertson app to access the Internet. The desktop apps require Internet connectivity through ports 80 and 443. Please restart your computer after applying any changes and before you try to update your library again.
