How Long Does it Take to Download an eBook?

Download times depend upon the size of the eBook and the way in which you are downloading it.

Free eBooks you select will be added to your online account instantly and purchased eBooks will be added to your account once you complete the transaction.

The speed with which you can download your eBook will depend on the device you are downloading to, your Internet connection and the size of the file. In most cases you should be able to access your digital book in under 10 minutes.

Downloading ePub formatted eBooks to Adobe Digital Editions or to the Sony software, Reader, usually takes between 10 and 30 seconds and the file will be stored on the hard drive of your computer. Smart devices such as iPads, iPhones and Android-powered devices rely in many cases upon the 3G network.  In times of peak use, such as on major holidays and on some sunny Friday afternoons, there may be delays due to high cellular network traffic.
