How do I hide the 100 pre-loaded books that came with my Kobo 1 or WiFi?
If you have a Kobo 1 or Kobo WiFi you will have noticed that your device shipped with 100 free classics preloaded. You can hide these quite simply.



  1. Press the MENU button on the Kobo

  2. Select Books. You will now see the list of all the e-books in your Kobo.

  3. Press DISPLAY - You will now see at the bottom of the list three options: a) all books b) my books c) pre-loaded books. Please choose the option that suits your viewing purposes.


How many books does the Kobo eReader hold?
The Kobo eReader comes with 1GB memory and holds up to 1,000 titles, based on an average eBook size of 1MB. You can add more storage (up to 4GB) using the SD Memory card slot. SD High Capacity (SDHC) cards are not supported.

Does the Kobo need Internet connectivity to work?
No, the Kobo does not need any connectivity to read any of the books once they have been loaded. If your Kobo has WiFi you can use this function anywhere wifi is available however this will use the battery power more quickly.

I cannot find the PDF files I loaded to my Kobo<
On a Kobo nd Kobo WiFi, PDF files are classified as documents and are stored in the 'Document' folder. On a Kobo Touch all files are stored in the one location.

Can I put eBooks from other retailers on my Kobo?
Yes, the Kobo works with eBooks and documents from many sources. You will need to use Adobe Digital Editions to load the eBooks to your Kobo. The online guide that we have created to begin using Adobe Digital Editions can be accessed here.
