I Upgraded My Kobo Firmware and Adobe Digital Editions Will Not Recognise It Now

Do not worry, this can be resolved quite easily.  Follow the process below.

1)  The first step is to ensure that your Kobo is turned on and that Adobe Digital Editions is running when you connect the Kobo to your computer.  A window should pop up within Adobe Digital Editions asking if you wish to authorize the device – select ‘YES’.

 2)  Delete the following folders from your Kobo as shown in the image below:

A&R Kobo ADE folders to delete for recognition

3)  Disconnect the Kobo from your computer and after it has processed the new data, hold down the ‘ON/ OFF’ button for five seconds.

4)  Check the Kobo is showing the screen “~POWERED OFF~ PRESS POWER TO START”.

5)  Restart the Kobo – it will now recreate the folder ‘.adobe-digital-editions’.

6)  Plug the Kobo back in to your computer and open Adobe Digital Editions

7)  Adobe Digital Editions should now display the popup box asking you to ‘authorise a new device’ – please select ‘YES’.
