I Want to Read eBooks in a Networked/ Corporate Environment

If you are using the Kobo desktop app for PC or Mac and cannot downlaod your eBooks when you click upon the 'UPDATE LIBRARY', then you may need to explore the settings to allow the app to connect to the eBook database.

The first step is to enable proxy mode by pressing the following keys together: 'CTRL+SHIFT+P' (on a PC) and COMMAND+SHIFT+P' (on an Apple Mac).  Pressing this combination of keys again will turn proxy mode off.

If you are using the app for the first time you may need to change the settings on your firewall and/ or security software to allow the app to download your eBooks.  Please check your security settings to allow the Kobo app to access the Internet.  The desktop apps require Internet connectivity through ports 80 and 443. Please restart your computer after applying any changes and before you try to update your library again.
