See the world of Fifty Shades of Grey anew through the eyes of Christian Grey from the 125 million copy bestselling author, E L James.

In Christian's own words, and through his thoughts, reflections, and dreams, E L James offers a fresh perspective on the love story that has enthralled millions of readers around the world.

Christian Grey exercises control in all things; his world is neat, disciplined, and utterly empty - until the day that Anastasia Steele falls into his office, in a tangle of shapely limbs and tumbling brown hair. He tries to forget her, but instead is swept up in a storm of emotion he cannot comprehend and cannot resist.

Unlike any woman he has known before, shy, unworldly Ana seems to see right through him - past the business prodigy and the penthouse lifestyle to Christian's cold, wounded heart.

Will being with Ana dispel the horrors of his childhood that haunt Christian every night? Or will his dark sexual desires, his compulsion to control, and the self-loathing that fills his soul drive this girl away and destroy the fragile hope she offers him?

E L James

After twenty-five years working in TV, E L James decided to pursue her childhood dream, and set out to write stories that readers would fall in love with. The result was the sensuous romance Fifty Shades of Grey and its two sequels, Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed, a trilogy that went on to sell more than 150 million copies worldwide in 52 languages. In 2015 she published the best seller Grey, the story of Fifty Shades of Grey from the perspective of Christian Grey.

In 2012, E L James was named one of Time magazine's "Most Influential People in the World," one of Barbara Walters's "Ten Most Fascinating People of the Year," and Publishers Weekly’s "Person of the Year.”

She went on to work as a producer on the film adaptations of her trilogy for Universal Pictures; Fifty Shades of Grey, the film, broke box-office records all over the world in 2015. Its 2017 sequel Fifty Shades Darker proved equally popular with fans of Ana and Christian’s story, and the concluding film Fifty Shades Freed will be released in 2018.

E L James lives with her husband, the novelist and screenwriter Niall Leonard, their two sons and their two dogs in West London, where she is working on new novels and movie projects.

Contains Spoilers: Keep Reading?

I liked this better than the first book the insight into Christian’s life helps the reader understand a lint better why he is the way he is! So much unresolved childhood pain and the consequences of growing into an adult with it and how it can affect all aspects of your life. A fairly good read but seemed a bit rushed.

Grey is the fourth book in the Fifty Shades Trilogy by E.L. James. It covers the same territory as the first book in the trilogy, but from the perspective of Christian Grey. So the reader gets the first encounter between Anastasia Steele and Christian, and the development of their relationship, all from his point of view. This is interspersed with bits of business the millionaire does, giving the reader a window into his character, and hints about his early life.
Grey seems to be both attracted to and annoyed/angered by Anastasia Steele’s sassiness and independence, a theme James labours to the point of irritation. Other reviewers have mentioned how Grey seems to give his penis a separate identity; and his alter-ego constantly admonishes him in italics. Again, there’s a lot of biting of the bottom lip. The email banter is sometimes quite witty and fun, and it does manage to take up a goodly portion of the 500+ pages.
Even readers who pick this one up as cheaply as $1.50 (and the current going rate must say something about the quality?) are unlikely to want to spend another 500+ pages of reading time on further additions to this trilogy: this really is a too-generous serve of Christian Grey. For diehard fans only.
