This fist volume recounts a quarter of a century of staunch commitmnet to political change leading up to the ratification of the 14th Ammendment. Though neither ultimately lived to see the passage of the 19th Amendment in 1920, both were synonomous with female sufferage in the USA as they mobilzed thousnds of women to fight for a political voice.
