The Underground Mini Comix of the 1980s
Hardback
Publication Date: 07/01/2010
After the first generation of underground cartoonists, including R. Crumb, Gilbert Shelton and Art Spiegelman, came small press artists inspired by the freewheeling creative energy of the underground comix movement. The most popular format was an 8A" x 11" sheet, folded twice and printed at local print shops on letter-size paper. Because of their small size, they were dubbed 'mini comix'. NEWAVE! Features over 700 pages of these comics, as well as a historical introduction by editor Michael Dowers and interviews with several of the artists featured.
