The figure of King Solomon is central to our understanding of the history of Israel and Judah. This volume of collected articles seeks to bring the reader up-to-date with current scholarship in the field. The book consists of 24 chapters providing studies in the historical approach to Solomon and to the 10th-century BC Judah and Israel with archaeological surveys of the neighbouring regions, sociological surveys and literary readings of the biblical texts.
