I moved to Simi Valley in 1971. I started a softball team for housewives through Parks & Recs. A chance for women to get out of the house once a week, have their husbands and children cheer them on while competing in softball. A young woman signed up through Park & Recs and was put onto my team. She had played in school and was a very good player. She played center field. I played left field. We became friends, and I would get a ride from her to our games. We quickly became close, and I fell in love! In December of 1977, she gave me a necklace for Christmas. Two love birds. She kissed me, but a week later she left for air force duty. After two years she wanted out of the air force. To get out of her commitment, she had to give them 5 years in the air national guard. We had 24 Years of love and happiness with family and friends. At the time, we did not know of anyone who stayed together for more than 5 years! My two kids learned about her through these letters and fell in love with her also.This is a story told in love letters.Enjoy!
