Every thought you think every word you say is an affirmation all ofour self-talk or inner dialogue is a stream of affirmations. We arecontinually affirming subconsciously with our words and thoughtsand this flow of affirmations is creating our life experience in everymoment. Our beliefs are just learned thought patterns that we have developedsince childhood, many of these work well for us, but others may nowbe working against us, they are dysfunctional and may be sabotagingus from achieving what we believe we want.Every affirmation we think or say is a reflection of our inner truth orbeliefs. It is important to realize that many of these "inner truths"may not actually be true for us now or may be based on invalid orinappropriate impressions we constructed as children, which ifexamined as an adult can be exposed as inappropriate. Our subconscious uses the behavior patterns we have learned toautomatically respond and react to many everyday events in our life. This is essential to our survival, we need to be able to respond quicklyto events around us which would be impossible if we had to reexamineevery aspect of things every time something simple happens. Our learned responses and thought patterns enable us toautomatically respond to circumstances quickly and easily. Problemsarise, however, if at an early stage some of the foundation beliefs onwhich many of the others are built were formed from a skewedperspective, maybe the strategy was appropriate for a perceived difficult circumstance, however often such beliefs are totallyinappropriate for succeeding in the real world as adults.

Daniel Wilson

Auckland-born Daniel Wilson has always been a fan of food. At 12, he had already decided to become a chef and hasn’t stopped since. Wilson bucked the trend to head to Europe and chose to hone his craft in the USA, staging under chefs like Daniel Boulud in New York.

Moving to Melbourne a few years later, he worked with Andrew Blake in his eponymous Southgate restaurant. More international experience and hard work gained Daniel The Age Good Food Guide Young Chef of the Year 2003, alongside Blake’s Cafeteria colleague Emma Mackay.

He’s done time at Jacques Reymond’s Arintji, as well as The Graham restaurant, and started the successful Huxtable in Melbourne’s Fitzroy, which opened in August 2010. These days he can be found creating delicious burgers behind the grill at one of his five Huxtaburger restaurants.
