The first woman in her family to be an engineer, Sunita loved her career in the Canadian technology sector - especially the teamwork, community, and friendships that developed. However, there was a darker side of corporate life to navigate: a power-and-profit-driven one marked by widespread burnout, questionable ethics, and toxic leaders.

Desperate to find her joyful self, she joined a group of strangers on a five-day silent mindfulness meditation retreat where she was exposed to Buddhist practices and profound compassion.
