These pieces were written at a time when the world felt harsh and cold. Sometimes, those are the times the river bursts free, and we can pour all the gentle, intimate and vulnerable things into its flow. These are the times when the texture of things becomes challenging, exciting and even magical in turn; when tears become oceans, and those passing aircraft lights become starships... when small things can open huge doors in the places behind our eyes. These are not the words of a warrior, nor do they pretend to be. Sometimes, simply being human is everything.
