With the simplicity of a Chinese brushstroke, this collection of newly translated tales opens up a magical world far from our customary haunts. For those who know and love the tales of Grimm and Andersen, the universal themes of fairy literature emerge in these classic stories with a sophistication uniquely Chinese and altogether entrancing.

Contains Spoilers: Keep Reading?

The stories themselves are interesting. What disappeared me was the state of the book when it arrived. The book, a paperback, had a wave in it and did not sit flat. Some corners were earmarked. The pages side was slightly dirty. I bought a “new” book but it looked second hand. I went to my confirmation email to register my dissatisfaction but every email sent to me was a non reply address. I searched also for a phone number but still have not found one. I did find that one can do a complaint online through their portal where one has no record of what one sent so I did this asking for either a replacement or a refund as a used book. That was days ago but I’ve heard nothing back. I don’t understand why businesses make it so difficult to contact them unless you are putting an order through.
