Anna Milbourne

Growing up on the Wirral and in Germany, Anna wrote plays about talking animals, and stories about naughty children, and drew on every available surface.

After school, she did an Art Foundation course, then a degree in German Literature & Philosophy at Oxford University. In 1998 she found her perfect job at Usborne in London, writing about everything from curious penguins to trips to the Moon.,

Jerome Martin

Jerome Martin has written children's books about science, history, Shakespeare and food. Before joining Usborne in 2014, he spent a decade studying literature at Harvard, Cambridge and the University of Iowa, and several years behaving responsibly in a copywriting office.

Now, he spends his working hours researching delightful and amazing facts, his evening hours parenting two children, and the minutes inbetween writing poetry.,

Rachel Firth

Rachel spent 11 years studying and teaching philosophy at the universities of London and Oxford before joining Usborne. Since then she has written books on subjects ranging from knights, to food, to philosophy, as well as retelling folk stories, and writing children's versions of numerous novels.

Ruth Brocklehurst

When she wasn't riding her bike or making things out of loo rolls and scraps of fabric, Ruth spent her childhood reading about detectives and historical figures.

She has written and edited countless books for Usborne - some about detectives and historical figures; some about dinosaurs, scientists and astronauts.

Laura Cowan

Laura studied literature twice at university, so she's read a lot of books (always helpful when writing them). Before joining Usborne, she taught English in Barcelona, Dublin and Cambridge. She now lives in East London, where she regrets the lack of sun and sea.
