Early Voices of Conscious Evolution is a collection of more than 130 passages from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, drawn from the works of more than 120 individuals. The passages were painstakingly selected and edited to evidence an epochal shift in social and cultural consciousness that occurred in that time period, with specific focus on a new awareness that the society and culture could be evolved consciously in a direction more supportive of human development, peace, and a sustainable relationship with the natural world. The collection has historical and cultural significance because the shift in consciousness evidenced in the passages has been generally overlooked in typical historical narratives. The work can help to place current societal dynamics into a broader and more empowering context, as the shift described through the passages continues to unfold today.
