Marco is only 15, but he has never had a childhood. He belongs to a violent gang that is forced to rob and commit other crimes by the leader Zola. He flees the gang when they threaten to mutilate him, but not before he discovers a body near Zola's hideout. When Detective Carl Mørck begins to investigate the murder, he learns that Marco might know something about the case. The teen fears the police just as much as he does the paid assassins Zola has hired to keep him quiet. Who will get to him first?
