Mette Engell

Mette Engell is a self-taught illustrator and designer with a background in marine biology. She’s been creating art for children ever since she became a parent. She lives by the ocean in northeastern Denmark with her husband and three children.

Barbara Bakos

Barbara Bakos grew up in a suburb of Budapest next to a little forest. She graduated as an animation director at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design Budapest and began working as an art director and designer for a television series and some short films, though she always knew she wanted to spend more time as an illustrator. She now lives between England and Hungary, and misses her big ginger cat when she is not with her, along with her Johnny Cash discs.

Sarah Jennings

Sarah Jennings is originally from North London. She studied Illustration at the University of Wolverhampton, graduating in 2013.

Her style is loose, humorous and textured, and she loves drawing, painting and creating textures to use in her artwork. Sarah is based in South London, where she works from her home studio.

Kim Barnes

Kim Barnes lives on the Isle of Wight with her partner and two children, Leo and Cameo, who greatly inspire her work. She graduated from Lincoln University, England, and has drawn ever since she was a young child.

Alex Willmore

Alex Willmore has been drawing characters since the moment he first picked up a pencil. His illustration work for kids includes such titles as Duck's Ditty and The New LiBEARian.

Alex has produced illustrations for a number of publishers, creating puzzles, picture books, packaging design, surface pattern for kids wear, stationery and greeting cards. He lives in the UK.

Richard Watson

Richard Watson works with the Foresight Practice at Imperial College London and regularly lectures at London Business School. He is the author of Future Files, which has been published in 15 languages, and the publisher of What’s Next, an online report that documents new ideas and trends.

Chris Jevons

Chris Jevons loved drawing from an early age, inspired by Saturday morning cartoons and Disney animated features. After studying art, design and animation at university, Chris worked as graphic designer and a 2D animator before pursuing a career in children’s publishing. Chris illustrates picture books and fiction for a variety of publishers and lives and works in Harrogate.

Louise Forshaw

Louise was born in 1987 - most likely with a pencil in her hand! Her passion for drawing started at around 4 years old. Nothing was safe from her coloured pencils!

She spent most of her childhood watching cartoons and drawing comics to give to her favourite teachers. She went on to graduate from Newcastle College in 2008 with a BA Hons in Illustration and Animation.

Louise works from home in a small studio (and sometimes from the sofa) being supervised by three noisy and very naughty Jack Russell Terriers
