The Big Easy ain't so easy after all, especially when Rune-shaper and Chosen Warrior Magnus discovers his best friends and his love interest have been kidnapped by G-men.

To rescue them, he'll have to enlist the dubious help of uneasy allies. With a heavily armed combat vet, a mildly unstable genius sibling of one kidnap victim, and just maybe, a handful of old enemies willing to bury the hatchet...in the bad guys rather than each other.

On the other side are Government Spooks, festering centuries-old grudges, a vindictive and power-hungry voodoo practitioner, and a vengeful ex-lover who wields divine magic ruthlessly.
