Chemical addictions not only affect the life of the addicted one, but it has been said that a person's addiction affect the lives of at least fourteen more people. This can easily be seen when we look at the addicted one having parents, children, siblings, cousins, bosses, coworkers, and friends. All love and care for the addicted person in their lives can easily become an enabler to the addicted because of the love for them. In more cases than not, the person attempting to help starts suffering from codependency if they don't get help and education on chemical addictions. Addictions not only affect lives but destroy them because addictions produce a sinful lifestyle that separates the suffering from God. The Bible and the twelve steps to recovery are the solutions for the addicted and the codependent.
