“Gold” takes place in the run-up to the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Sacrifice is explored on many levels in many lives throughout the book. Readers experience years of background through well done flashbacks and reflections.
Gold is Chris Cleaves third novel. Do not let the idea of another book about determination and sport put you off.
