It is early in the 13th century and Gregory, the son of one of England's leading earls, lives in a castle in the north of England. Together with his trusty companion, Rufus, an Irish Wolfhound, Gregory sets out on the first of many adventures and helps the Green Knight to escape the spell cast by the evil Sir Ethelred. To free the Green Knight from the spell, Gregory and Rufus must face a terrifying dragon, a ghostly Saracen and challenge the evil knight at the King's tournament.
