Heliopolis 21 projects and researches in fact aims at a radical change of architecture, starting from the convincement that the global crisis are due to the way we have built our cities. Architects should contribute in a meaningful way to the advancement of the quality of the lives we lead, at a time when we face challenges of major proportions and urgency. According to H21 this is to be done through research, pedagogy and practice. Integrity, equity and social justice, sustainability and innovation, excellence and engagement, and resilience are the aims of their architecture. Thus, the book is organised in 4 complementary sections. Each part aspires to generate an impact in terms of community resilience.
