Ebony has always known that she is different. Her violet eyes mark her out, and her protective parents have kept her in a gorgeous valley, home-schooled, safe from everything - almost as if she's being hidden. But she's changing: glowing, getting more and more beautiful, and stronger than anyone knows. Ebony can't stay hidden for ever, and when she meets complicated, intense Jordan, something explodes inside her - something that can be seen from the heavens; something that changes everything. Ebony is a stolen angel, concealed on Earth. Now the heavens have found her, they want her back.

Ebony and Jordan are sixteen and attend the same high school in Australia and were born at the same time, so they share a special link. They meet by accident and unbeknown to them the heavens light up when they touch, alerting the angels, both good and dark to their position. This triggers events that make this book a page-turning thriller.

The gorgeous angel Nathaneal takes troubled Jordan in under his wing (no pun intended). He trains Jordan and the two grow close like brothers, but jealousy undoes the good between them.

The plot unfolded brilliantly, letting me know what I needed while keeping much more a mystery. I loved Ebony's character. She's strong and doesn't just accept she's an angel because people tell her she is. She demands proof. It stems back to how she was raised, but it also makes good sense. Her friend Amber is the kind of friend everyone should have. Jordan is sweet and damaged from a rough childhood that's intrinsic to the plot. And Nathaneal is just gorgeous.

Hidden is the first in a series, so there are lots of unanswered questions I'm sure we will get the answers as the series plays out. I wish the sequel would hurry.

There is a battle scene that had me on the edge of my seat with my heart thumping hard, a kiss that took my breath away, and an ending I didnt see coming.

Hidden is not your typical paranormal romance. It has a different take than other angel books. I loved the angel world Marianne Curley created.
