The provocative political thinker asks if capitalism will end with a bang or a whimper.

In How Will Capitalism End? the acclaimed analyst of contemporary politics and economics Wolfgang Streeck argues that capitalism is now in a critical condition - stricken with at least five worsening disorders for which no cure is at hand: declining growth, oligarchy, starvation of the public sphere, corruption and international anarchy.

In this arresting book Wolfgang Streeck asks if we are witnessing a long and painful period of cumulative decay: of intensifying frictions, of fragility and uncertainty, and of a steady succession of 'normal accidents'.

A most alarming and concerning elucidation of our present state. It would help if the reader has a basic knowledge of economics as preached until now. i often wondered how one would answer the question " yes, but what is it that would/should replace capitalism?" I am pleased, but not surprised, that Wolfgang Streeck does not offer a definitive answer. Alas only time will tell. On the whole, a most worthy read
