Centering on three generations of the CIA Kingston family (introduced in Bishop's Endgame and Aiken in Check) it is a reimagining of Arthurian legend as a CIA thriller: a drama about family loyalty and love, betrayal and redemption. The serial takes its name, KALEIDOSCOPE from the oldest, most covert, deadliest and fiercely protected operation within the CIA. Since the beginning of the 20th century it has been secretly understood that energy-its possession, production and distribution-is the key to a nation's power, influence and survival. Under the guise of social, political and religious rhetoric, two World wars, two Asian wars, a Cold War and, numerous Middle Eastern wars have been waged for its control. In the 21st century the worldwide demand for energy far surpasses resources; Kaleidoscope has become the all-powerful "hidden hand" within the CIA secretly dictating, manipulating, and overscoring all operations within the Agency. But operations like this do not exist in a vacuum. As long as Kaleidoscope has operated for the interests of the United States, in the Soviet Union-now the Russian Federation-there has been Kalaydoskop.
