Bug Club is the first phonics-based school reading programme that joins books with an online reading world to teach children to read. With a fantastic mix of fiction, non-fiction, comics and phonics, and characters with kid-cred such as Walllace & Gromit, Casper the Friendly Ghost and Shaun the Sheep, plus new characters like the Mermaids and the Fang Family, there's plenty to engage both girls and boys. Bug Club books are ideal for reading at home too, as additional practice or just for fun. Each Bug Club book is levelled to Book Bands (just like the books your child brings home from school in their book bag), so you can be sure you're buying great reads at the right level for your child. Helpful parent notes on the inside cover of each book highlight high frequency words and sounds, and the inside back cover includes ideas for games and activities related to each book. Bug Club's Turquoise Level Reading Pack is great for encouraging your young readers at Year 2 to read more widely with confidence. It contains 4 fiction and 2 non-fiction books -- Dino-Splashing; Yun and the Ice Spirit; Run in the Rainforest; Just the Job; Cars, Cars, Cars; and Can You Do This?Dino-Splashing: The dinosaur friends are puzzled to find that their waterfall is not working. They try to investigate but Flapper's non-stop eating and Nutter's crashing add to their troubles. Then a T-Rex attacks Yun and the Ice Spirit: When Yun spots the Dragon Princess tied to a tree, she tells him she has been captured by the Ice Spirit. Yun agrees to fetch her father, the Dragon King, at his underwater palace. Run in the Rainforest: Ed and Lin have gone with their father to the rainforest. Lin is worried about dangerous animals especially when Ed tells her about a big, scary cat called a jaguar. Just the Job: Pete wants a job, but unfortunately everything he tries ends in disaster. When animals start appearing on his doorstep looking for a home, Pete lets them in. This leads to just the job for Pete Cars, Cars, Cars: A history of cars, including how they have evolved, the impact they have had on our world and the problems they have created. Can You Do This? This book is filled with fun physical challenges to do anywhere. There are eight body tricks and balances to try and the only equipment you will need is yourself and one piece of paper
