Seek the Extremes
Hardback
Publication Date: 18/07/2006
This book's texts are by Lee Lozano, Sabine Folie, and Hans-Jurgen Hafner. Lee Lozano (1930-1999), American, is an advocate of radical art. Drawing, painting, and words are integral components of her work. Ostracized because of her sexual freedom and experimentation with drugs, she put her conceptual project 'to boycott women' into practice as a lifelong venture and retired from the art world in the early seventies and never again talked to women. In her work, she manifests an uncompromising style which combines comic-strips with texts. Her drawings and paintings are overwhelming, detailed, transgressive, acidly-fresh and ahead of their time. This work is published to accompany the exhibition Seek the Extremes...Dorothy Iannone. Lee Lozano at Kunsthalle Wien, July - October 2006. It is available with "Dorothy Iannone: Seek the Extremes!" as a two volume set at GBP28.00 ISBN 3-938821-50-7 / 978-3-938821-50-3.
