The tree in my front yard has green leaves, if a voice is telling me they are blue; the voice is lying to me. The rose bush has pink flowers, if a voice is telling me they are brown; the voice is lying. The lilac has lavender flowers, green leaves, the stems are gray; if I am told anything different; the voice is lying. If I go to God in prayer, and a voice is telling me something contrary to what God's written Word says; the voice is lying and it isn't God speaking to me. Even Jesus when His ministry started, being tempted by the devil, had a voice telling Him something contrary to what God's Word says. In Luke 4:4 Jesus responded to the devil, "No! The Scripture says." Please don't just listen to any voice. What does scripture say? If it is God's voice you are hearing, it will have God's Word as its witness. God doesn't lie, God will not tell you it is okay to do something contrary to His Word. This is how we know what God is saying, which will be different from what the devil is saying. God's written Word confirms what we are hearing. The Lessons God Taught a Simple Man, comes from moments like this. I spent time listening to God and aligning it with His Word. Then I followed His direction and put it to pen. This book was written with a desire to share what God has taught me. I wanted you to know that you are not alone.
