During my time spent solo backpacking I decided to document some of the things I learned, so that I could look back on them as a source of guidance and reflection in the future. The more I travelled, the more I realised that these lessons were being brought up ever more frequently during conversations. The lessons themselves were born through a combination of shared experiences with friends, conversations with strangers, studies and courses I undertook, books I read and often mistakes I made personally along the way. The people with whom many of these lessons came from were born in countries around the globe, they were raised with different family dynamics, they have different outlooks on life, they have different professional and educational backgrounds and are from a broad range of age groups. The contents of the book are designed to be absorbed slowly, discussed with other people and interpreted as you see fit. The book can easily fit into a backpack and after reading passed onto friends, family or strangers.
