... the content and overriding themes of my early poems were nothing short of dismal. Titles included, "Death Notes", "Nimbus" and "Shame". Even without sharing the accompanying verses with you, it is clear to see how trapped my soul was. I was lost and didn't even know it. But, then, something wonderful happened...I completely surrendered my Life to Jesus...I began writing again, this time however, from His perspective... from the Introduction to "Life Renewed." To run free from this life Was all that I craved Yearning for cover Deep in a grave I wanted to hide me I'd dig my own hole. Then, a friend asked me, "What of your soul?" from one of the poems in this collection, "To Be Free" Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2 "Life Renewed" is indeed a celebration of change, love and restoration through salvation; a subtle blend of poems and scriptures that speak to your mind, body and soul.
