London, 1906: One of the world's foremost Shakespeare scholars presents a paper at Madame Tussaud's which claims that the real author of the works accredited to the Bard of Avon was none other than Queen Elizabeth I. Few in his audience, including the redoubtable Amelia Watson, wife of Doctor John H., take him seriously - but shortly afterward he is found murdered in his hotel room.
