Elen Caldecott

Elen Caldecott graduated with an MA in Writing for Young People from Bath Spa University and was highly commended in the PFD Prize for Most Promising Writer for Young People.

Before becoming a writer, she was an archaeologist, a nurse, a theatre usher and a museum security guard. Elen's debut novel, How Kirsty Jenkins Stole the Elephant, was shortlisted for the Waterstone's Children's Prize and longlisted for the 2010 Carnegie Medal.

Tony Bradman

Tony Bradman has worked in children's books for over 30 years as a writer, a reviewer, and an editor of anthologies.

His books include the Dilly the Dinosaur picture-book series, which sold 2 million copies worldwide.Tony is lead author for Project X, OUP's reading scheme for boys up to Year 6.

He has been a judge for the Smarties Book Prize, Booktrust Teen Awards and is chair of the Siobhan Dowd Trust. Anglo-Saxon Boy is his second novel for Walker. He lives in Beckenham, Kent.

Andy Briggs

Andy is a screenwriter, graphic novelist and author - writing on movie projects such as "JUDGE DREDD" and "FREDDY VS JASON" and "FOREVERMAN" for Spiderman creator Stan Lee and legendary producer Robert Evans. He went on to work on Warner Bros. "AQUAMAN" - while at the same time landing an eight-book deal with Oxford University Press for "HERO.COM" and "VILLAIN.NET". His graphic novels include KONG: KING OF SKULL ISLAND, RITUAL and DINOCORPS for Markosia Comics.

He has recently rebooted the classic character TARZAN, with his new books TARZAN: THE GREYSTOKE LEGACY and TARZAN: THE JUNGLE WARRIOR. WARRIOR NUMBER ONE is his first book with Franklin Watts.

Mike Tucker

Mike Tucker is an author specialising in books for children and young adults, and has written several original ‘Doctor Who’ novels, a number of Merlin novelisations, and original fiction for other shared universes. He has also written numerous factual books relating to film and television, including a history of the BBC’s Visual Effects Department, where he used to work.

Alongside his writing, Mike works as a Visual Effects Designer, and his company - The Model Unit - recently won a BAFTA Craft Award for its miniature effects work on the 50th anniversary Doctor Who episode The Day of the Doctor.
