Decisive Initiatives

My objective in life is to inspire those who are searching for a better way of living. These poems have a foundation of their own; they are intended to lift you up when almost everything seems to be going wrong. These poems were written from actual experiences and what I have observed from my surroundings. I would like to thank my teachers DeLou Maureen Powell and B.B Bent of the Junction Junior secondary school in St, Elizabeth Jamaica W.I for believing in me so many years ago, my sister and editor Debbie L Burton, my son Davey C Burton for his website and computer genius, Christopher Thomas, Micah Clarke, my family and friends. I would like to salute all the uplifting poets of today and those who have gone before me. It's truly difficult holding down a nine to five job and writing at the same time. To write with clearness and understanding our minds and heart must be rested. These poems are written for the like-minded who wish to try a freshness of doing instead of giving into the struggles of life. Poetry can give us the strength to carry on when unwanted worries linger. It brightens our life when we need that extra push in the right direction. (The key to everlasting happiness, is to give love freely to all human beings)Bill Burton
