Richard Steven Valenzuela, born on May 13th, 1941, Pacoima, California, U.S, professionally known as Ritchie Valens, was a Mexican American singer, songwriter, and guitarist. A rock 'n' roll pioneer and a forefather of the Chicano rock movement, Valens' recording career lasted just 8 months, abruptly ending when he died in a plane crash.
