The wonder and delight of this story is a special gift for an eighth birthday. A chapter can be a bed time treat and I am hoping she will sometimes read ahead and reread with pleasure year after year. It is the perfect introduction to the fantasy worlds of Emily Rodda and has equal appeal for boys and girls. Our little girl's father will be reminded of the first time he shared Rowan's journey.
