Set in The American Civil War, during the height of General Sherman's March to the Sea, Jessica Wells, struggles to keep her family together as the threat of war approaches on the horizon. As the days go by, and tension grows due to unforeseen tragedies in her life, Jessica, and her close friends, struggle to deal with the horrors of war on the home front, and the constant worry for their loved ones on the battlefield. But nothing compares to the day when the Union Army shows up in her hometown of Roswell, Georgia, and destroys the life she once knew. Based on true events in the summer of 1864, a group of women and children, in the small mill town of Roswell, Georgia were brutally seized, taken against their will, packed into the cattle cars of a Union Army prison train, and shipped north. In the midst of the chaos and war, their families learned of this tragedy, and struggled to rescue their loved ones. Of the hundreds of women and children to be taken, only a handful ever returned to Georgia. Most were never heard from again.
