In this book are the first three adventures of Sherlock Ferret, the World's Cutest Detective, who lives in rooms under Mrs. Hudson's bakery. Together with the help of his friend Watson Mouse, and his colleague Inspector Lestrade, who is a rhinoceros (though he is not a very big one), and the Bakery Irregulars, Sherlock Ferret solves mysteries. The Missing Necklace is the story of a silly rabbit, who loses her valuable necklace. Is the nefarious Moriarty Magpie to blame, or is it the frightening Colonel Sebastian Moorhen? In The Multiplying Masterpieces, it seems that there are some dubious paintings in the Museum. Sherlock must find out if the famous artist Pablo Pigasso (who is a very rude person) is responsible. And in The Poisoned Pond, when twelve little Fieldmouse children fall ill, Sherlock Ferret and his friend Doctor Solomon Sloth suspect they have been swimming in the wrong place. Sherlock and Watson find strange scurrilous beasts near the pond. What have these beasts been up to? And in a special story, Vinnie the Visitor, told for the first time in this book, Sherlock's cousin comes to stay, and he discovers the truth about her swimming pool and private air-conditioned room.
