The Latin verses which follow, and of which I have given a rough translation as the motto for this sketch, were found written in an eighteenth-century hand in a copy of the Book of Common Prayer (thomas Parsell's Latin version, edition They are placed here as still more appropriate in their tenderness and beauty to the common fountain of our prayer and praise.
