Expat life in Saudi Arabia sparkles with seduction. For the families living in the Middle East kingdom many miles from home, there are well-paid jobs, luxury lifestyles, private education and domestic help, not to mention wall-to-wall sunshine.

But there's a dark underbelly too. Overworked husbands are tempted by their young and pretty PAs, while bored housewives who are forbidden to work distract themselves with shopping and idle gossip. But sometimes that gossip is more than petty. Sometimes it can split up families, destroy livelihoods and ruin lives.




Since arriving in Saudi Arabia, Anji's life has been defined by her role as a wife and mother. Keeping her busy husband happy by playing the dutiful partner at parties and social events, while doing her best to make sure her children grow up grateful and balanced during their charmed time abroad.
