As the flames of the bushfire approach, one small wombat is bravely followed by other animals to the safety of her underground burrow.

Danny Snell

Danny Snell is a freelance illustrator living in Adelaide, Australia. He trained at the Adelaide Central School of Art and the University of South Australia, graduating with a Bachelor of Design (Illustration) in 1992.

Danny is a self-confessed bower bird and collector of ephemera, and it is these odds and ends, along with a love of line and texture, that he coaxes and weaves together to produce illustrations for use in editorial, design and advertising.

And to ensure that he doesn't forget how to paint Danny (dons an entirely different hat) and illustrates children's books. If the planets one day align he hopes to merge these two disciplines and create something to make you smile.

Beautifully written and illustrated. An absolute delight. Also informative, will help children to understand the impact of bushfires on wildlife. I’m sure my grandchildren in Canada will love it.
