This book, The Gospel of the Torah, challenges some of the errant teaching in Messianic Judaism and the Hebrew Roots Movements to the Christian faith that asserts that the Gentile Church has hijacked the true gospel message and transformed it into something that is not the message of Jesus and the apostles. This "movement" as it is being called, is leading individuals away from Christ, not toward Him. It is teaching individuals to rely upon their own obedience to the Mosaic Law rather than upon the perfect obedience of the Son of God who fulfilled the Law. Much of the Hebrew Roots and Messianic Judaism's teachings are flawed because it is a return to the Covenant of Sinai where there is bondage to Law keeping, which is apostasy from the Grace of God. The argument of this movement is that since Jesus and the early Church disciples continued to follow the Mosaic Law, Gentile believers are obligated to do the same; and had it not been for the anti-Semitic attitudes of the "founding fathers", the New Testament Church would have been a Jewish Church. Furthermore, this movement, with its emphasis on obeying the Law, minimizes the state and condition of sinners and the fallen nature of man. But more importantly, it minimizes the work of God through His Son who purchased salvation by the sacrifice of Himself. This Messianic/Hebrew Roots message seems to imply that living by the Mosaic Law is what God intended for all who believe in His Son. However, the evidence in the N.T. Scriptures does not support this view and is proof that the message of some in this movement is false. True believers are commanded to be obedient to the faith of the gospel of God's Son (Romans 1: 5, 16: 25- 26).
